I was born in Lisbon, December 1969;

Licenciatura in Engenharia Física Tecnológica (now MEFT) from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in June 1992;

Doutoramento (PhD) in Physics from IST in June 1997
Advisor: Prof. J. T. Mendonça (@ GoLP);

Assistant Professor of Physics at Department of Physics/IST from June 1997 to May 2005;

Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of California Los Angeles - Plasma Simulation Group - from September 1997 to January 2001. Supervisors: Prof. John M. Dawson and Prof. W. B. Mori;

Since January 2001, I am at GoLP/Institute for Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion, working on theoretical and computational plasma physics with the epp team;

Associate Professor of Physics at Department of Physics/IST since May 2005;

Scientific Coordinator of the Group of Lasers and Plasmas since January 2006;
