I have been interested in Special Relativity and in understanding better its foundations and meaning. In a careful discussion of the postulates of the constancy of the speed of light and of the Principle of Relativity. Together with my friend and colleague Rodrigo de Abreu, we have been discussing issues such as a preferred reference frame (absolute space and aether), the one-way speed of light, Michelson-Morley experiment and Miller experiments, the conceptualization of time, the not so privileged role of the Lorentz transformation, and other similar "heretical" things.
In one sentence, the traditional formulation of special relativity uses too strong postulates (principle of relativity and constacy of the speed of light), as each of them can be formulated in a weaker form while keeping fully compatible with the observed physical reality.
