NEUROSCIENCE
Electroencephalography
tecnique used to record brain's spontaneous electrical activity. It uses non-invasive methods by placing multiple electrodes along the scalp and is often used to diagonose certain brain problems such as Epilepsy.
Magnetoecephalography
Functional neuroimaging tecnique for mapping brain activity by recording magnetic fields that uses very sensitive magnetometers.

Is mostly applied with the use on non-invasive methods, however some semi-invasive methods are being developed.
Electrocorticography
Brain mapping tecnique that in practice uses electrodes that are placed directly on the exposed surface of the brain.

It is used to record electrical activity from the cerebral cortex and since it requieres a surgical incicion into the skull, it is considered an invasive procedure.

Study of the Brain

Comprehension of the human brain complexity in order to expand the knowledge of human cognition and the development of new technologies able to improve health and physical capabilities, are areas where Electronis plays an important role.

Acquiring and processing signals from the human body so that systems that react to them can be developed falls within Biomedical Applications.
