Reference Methods

Reference methods are methods in which accuracy and precision are very important. In general, these methods are time consuming and require expensive equipment and usually specially educated personnel. Accuracy of analysis results is very important in cases of indecision and specially of conflict.

These methods are issued by institutes for standardisation or in method collections published either by food regulation and inspection authorities or by national or international analysis committees.
