I am an Integrated Researcher at INESC-ID, in the Distributed, Parallel, and Secure Systems (DPSS) scientific area.
I am the Principal Investigator of the INESC-ID and IST participation in the BLOCKCHAIN.PT - Agenda Descentralizar Portugal com Blockchain, financed by European Funds, namely the Recovery and Resilience Plan. The project teams will work to improve the agri-food supply chain, real estate markets, and blockchain interoperability.
I was the Principal Investigator of the SureThing project (FCT, PTDC/CCI-COM/31440/2017), between October 2018 and September 2022. The project team developed location certificates so that mobile applications and Internet of Things devices can make proof of their location and contribute to more trustable services.
I was the Work Package Leader for WP1 (Secure Communications) in the SafeCloud project (H2020 653884), between September 2015 and August 2018. The team developed added-security communication mechanisms designed to protect Internet-based communications from more powerful adversaries.
I was a Visiting Scholar at TUM in 2017-2018, under invitation of Prof. Georg Carle, Chair of Network Architectures and Services. I was Guest Scientist from 2018 until 2021.
I was a Visiting Student at MIT in 2008-2009, under invitation of Sanjay Sarma, co-supervisor of my PhD. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Christian Floerkemeier, Rahul Bhattacharyya, and Isaac Ehrenberg. We collaborated again in the organizing committee of the 4th International Conference on the Internet of Things.
