I work at the IST Computer Science and Engineering Department and at the INESC-ID IDSS Lab. I am interested in algorithm engineering and computational science, and I have been involved in several projects on computational biology, bioinformatics, graph mining, data and network analysis. Examples of ongoing projects are NGPHYLO, BacGenTrack, PRECISE, GoLocal, NEUROCLINOMICS2 and BIRDS. I am also involved in the THOR interest group on algorithms and computer programming at INESC-ID. You can find more about my work below; let me know if you have questions or comments, I will be happy to discuss them with you.

In Fall 2018 I am teaching Network Science for MSc students.

My office hours are on Wednesday, 10:30 to 12:30, room 432 at INESC-ID; and at other times by appointment.
