I work at the IST Computer Science and Engineering Department and at the INESC-ID IDSS Lab. I am interested in algorithm engineering and computational science, and I have been involved in several projects on computational biology, bioinformatics, graph mining, data and network analysis. Examples of ongoing projects are NGPHYLO, BacGenTrack, PRECISE, GoLocal, NEUROCLINOMICS2 and BIRDS. I am also involved in the THOR interest group on algorithms and computer programming at INESC-ID. You can find more about my work below; let me know if you have questions or comments, I will be happy to discuss them with you.

In Spring 2019 I am teaching Advanced Algorithms for MSc students, and Introduction to Algorithms and Data Structures for BSc students.

My office hours are on Monday, 13:30 to 15:30, room 432 at INESC-ID; and at other times by appointment.
