Project HIVCONTROL - Control based on dynamic modeling of HIV-1 infection for therapy design, is a three-year multidisciplinary national project that involves several institutions such as INESC-ID (Lisbon, Portugal), FM/UL (Lisbon, Portugal), ISR/IST (Lisbon, Portugal), Los Alamos National Laboratory (USA), Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (Oeiras, Portugal), IMM (Lisbon, Portugal) and ISIB-CNR (Padova, Italy).

The aim of this project consists of designing personalized therapy strategies to control HIV-1 infection using model based nonlinear control and estimation techniques.

Impact: personalized treatment - provide more comfort to the patient; economical; generalization to other infections diseases
