Fishes on Venus or what size of sample of tools
Find (Monte Carlo) how many fishes to bring from Venus or how many tools to pick for a task.
2024.Jul.03 18:24:04
n No. of fishes (or tools) needed.
n max Maximum n to be investigated.
ntr No. of simulation trials (max: from field size).
.Seed Random (integer) "seed". Iff seed is ≠ 0, simulation is repeatable.
Show values Shows the values of the graph coordinates.
For samples of sizes n to n max fishes or tools, probabilites are calculated via the Monte Carlo method that the sample contains at least: one fish of each sex; or one tool of each type. (Run time for the base case is ca. 1 s.) An exact solution.xlsx is given by Feller [1968].
Preference is given to the (hopefully correct) BrEng plural fishes, instead of the AmEng fish as used by Carr [1992].
