Presently, I’m a Scientist at Hovione FarmaCiência R&D supporting development and validation of spray drying, dry granulation and tableting projects with emphasis on streamlining formulation and process development using physical modeling of amorphous systems and computational modeling of multiphase/granular flows using CFD-DEM.

Before I was an invited Lecturer and research associate at IST - U. Lisbon working on numerical simulations of viscoelastic turbulent flows with Prof. Carlos B. da Silva (IST) and Prof. Fernando T. Pinho (FEUP).

I received my Ph.D. from Imperial College London where I experimentally studied energy transfer and dissipation mechanisms in non-equilibrium turbulence in the lee of regular grids and fractal square grids, under the supervision of Prof. Christos Vassilicos.

Formerly, I was an aero-thermodynamics engineer at Volvo Aero Corp. (now GKN aerospace) working on CFD simulations and performance models for the LH2 and LOx turbines for the European Space Launchers (ARIANE 5 and New Generation Laucher)
