The project DLC FA1201 (Fibber Access System) was a project led by
NEC Japan and involved also NEC Brasil and INESC. The main goals of the project
are the development of control software for a Multiplexing unit / Remote
Unit (Digital Loop Carrier System) using SDL tools for specification, design
and code generation. The system was designed in accordance with the V.5 specification
and in order to cope with different national protocol specifications, with
several topologies.
INESC participated on system requirements and specification and was responsible for the F/W development of the Common Control Unit (CCU). The project started in 1994 and terminated in 1999.
Mário Nunes was responsible for the INESC participation
in the project from 1997 to 1999.
