Jubilação (Abril 2022)

Está envolvida no estudo de superfícies de materiais poliméricos. Tem desenvolvido trabalhos no domínio da Espectroscopia de Perda de Energia de Electrões Lentos retrodifundidos por filmes orgânicos sólidos, com especial incidência em filmes poliméricos. A sua principal contribuição tem sido no sentido de tornar a técnica quantitativa o que lhe permitiu pôr em evidência segregações superficiais em sistemas onde apenas teoricamente estava prevista a sua ocorrência.

Tem ainda participado no estudo de superfícies por espectroscopia de fotoelectrão de raios-X sendo particularmente relevante o seu envolvimento no estudo de adsorção em materiais microporosos em colaboração com outros grupos de Investigação. Actualmente tem estudado superfícies de celulose modificadas em fase heterogénea usando a química conhecida em fase homogénea.

Foi Directora do Boletim da Sociedade Portuguesa de Química de 1998 ao 1º trimestre de 2001.

Foi representante da SPQ junto do GAVE de 2005/2006 a 2008/2009.
