      Turning on the fluorescence of [3]cumulenes: we report the luminescence at room temperature upon aggregation of [3]cumulenes functionalized with propeller-like heptagon-containing polyphenylenes. These endgroups turn on the emission of a [3]cumulene by steric protection and restriction of their intramolecular rotations in the aggregates.

      Organic single-crystals interfaces betweeb rubrene and perylenediimides (PDIB) were probed with wavelength-dependent photocurrent spectroscopy and their crystal structure resolved. All systems presented a dynamic photoresponse, faster than 500 ms, up to 650 nm. A relationship between molecular organization and favorable exciton diffusion in substituted PDIB was established.

      Multilayer data storage was demonstrated in films of photochromic (PC) molecules doped with a nonlinear Near-IR-antenna polymer based on triazine.The two-photon excitation of the polymer triggers a unidirectional isomerization of the PC molecules (a cycloreversion process from the closed to the open isomer) via FRET.

      The excited state relaxation dynamics of Cr(acac)3 was studied by ultrafast infrared spectroscopy. Data from measurements of vibrational cooling in the excited and ground state and thermal deactivation of the lowest excited state were combined to formulate a clear picture of the relaxation dynamics.

      Two series of hyperbranched polymers based on alkyl-modified 2,4,6-tris(thiophen-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine central units linked through fluorene bridges of different lengths have been synthesized via Suzuki coupling.These polymers perform considerably better as nonlinear absorbers than their unsubstituted analogues.

      A large photoresponse was observed at the interface between a highly ordered rubrene single-crystal and an amorphous fullerene film, with responsivity values 300 times higher than the corresponding bulk-heterojunctions and isolated single-crystal.This results provide important insights to harnessing excitons generated in both the electron donor and acceptor materials increasing the efficiency in organic devices.

      The photoconductivity behaviour of single-crystal charge transfer interfaces composed of rubrene and TCNQ presents a responsivity reaching 1 A/W, corresponding to an external quantum efficiency of nearly 100%. This result opens the possibility of using organic single-crystal interfaces in photonic applications.

      Linear and nonlinear photophysical properties of unsaturated oxazolones were studied. By engineering this green fluorescent protein analogue core we have prepared molecules with high two-photon absorption cross-sections (TPA) 200-500 GM and fluorescence quantum yields up to 0.75.

    The two-photon absorption of linear polymers and corresponding polymers nanoparticles based on the triazine- thiophen electron acceptor bridged by different elecron donor groups have been studied. Water soluble polymer dots with extremely high TPA cross-sections were obtained (10E6 GM).

    A series of V-shaped (D-p-A-p-D) and star-shaped ((D-p-)3A) molecules based on the electron acceptor 1,3,5-triazine core have been synthesized.They exhibit strong two-photon absorption activity and only a modest interbranch conjugation effect enhancing the TPA cross-section beyond the additive effect of increasing branch number.

      A new fluorescent marker for multiphoton imaging was developed with D-p-A+-p-D geometry based on the quinolizinium cation as electron acceptor (A+). The dye distributed all over the cell, including the nuceus.
